Welcome to Just a Helping Hand
Just a Helping Hand was launched in January 2016 by members of Beacon Church, Chertsey in Surrey, to help local people in Runnymede and the surrounding areas who find themselves homeless.
We offer day to day essentials in a rucksack, warm clothing, shower and laundry facilities, a listening ear, and signposting to local services who can also help.
Our Mission
We exist to bring compassion, dignity and practical support to people facing homelessness in Runnymede, Spelthorne and Elmbridge. Through personalised essentials, warm connection and a trauma‑informed approach, we walk alongside individuals as they take steps toward safety, stability and hope.
Our Vision
A community where no one faces homelessness alone. A place where every person is met with respect, supported without judgement and empowered to rebuild their life. A future shaped by compassion, connection and the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued and seen.
Our Values
We meet every person with warmth, patience and genuine care. We treat everyone as an equal, honouring their worth and individuality. We listen without judgement and create a safe space for every story. We welcome people of all backgrounds, identities and experiences. We act with honesty, consistency and responsibility in all we do. We believe in standing together so no one has to face crisis alone. We tailor our help to each person’s needs, offering practical items and emotional understanding with thoughtfulness and humanity.
