Taking the first step to ask for help can feel incredibly difficult. Many people carry the impact of traumatic experiences, often from childhood, that continue to shape their lives as adults. That’s why kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. If you’ve taken that first step, we want to say: well done, you’re moving in the right direction.
At Just a Helping Hand, we are dedicated to supporting individuals facing homelessness in Runnymede and the surrounding areas of Spelthorne and Elmbridge. The support we provide is tailored to each person’s unique needs, because no two situations are the same.
If you are seeking support for yourself or someone else outside of these areas, we encourage you to contact your local authority for assistance.
What to expect from us
You will receive a warm welcome, along with food, a hot drink, and a listening ear. We offer free support to people from all backgrounds during times of crisis, always adapting what we provide to suit individual needs.
Rucksacks
Each rucksack is thoughtfully prepared for someone experiencing homelessness, whether they are rough sleeping, sofa surfing, or in temporary accommodation.
Clothing
We provide high-quality pre-loved clothing, carefully checked, washed, and ironed. All underwear items, including socks, are brand new.
Other support includes:
